Job summary

Myers Industries, Inc., a leading polymer and plastics manufacturer, is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician/Electrician in Orlando to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment. Work is in a production environment with exposure to heat, noise and moving equipment; duties include preventative maintenance, repairs, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
3+ years of manufacturing experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC skills.
AC motors, electrical panels, power distribution and VFD experience preferred.
Experience with industrial manufacturing, injection molding, tools and equipment.
Must read schematics and diagrams; reliable attendance and English communication.

Responsibilities

Inspect electrical equipment wiring, fixtures, and components to ensure they remain functional and up to code, and identify hazards or issues.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Respond to work order requests by analyzing test results, machine error messages, and operator information to diagnose problems.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust, recording parts used.
Perform mechanical skills including PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in duties.
Detect faulty operations or materials and report to supervision.
Ensure safety requirements are prioritized (LOTO, confined spaces, tool safety).
Readiness to work extended hours when required.
