Job summary

West Liberty Foods in West Liberty, IA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the primary setup on the 3rd shift. The role focuses on keeping production running by maintaining machinery, reading diagrams, and troubleshooting automated and electrical systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience with PLCs, Vision Systems, and equipment from Textor/Weber/Multivac, plus an ability to read maintenance manuals, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical diagrams and manuals.
• Read and write English with ability to comprehend maintenance manuals.
• Experience with automated equipment (PLCs, Vision Systems) is preferred.
• Associates degree or equivalent in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative maintenance and planned tasks.
• Be an active member of the HAZMAT team.
• Read and understand mechanical/electrical diagrams and manuals.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot automated equipment.
• Repair mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Follow safety and PPE guidelines in maintenance work.
• Operate lifts and material handling tools as needed.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
