Job summary

Greif is seeking an entry-level 3rd Shift IBC Blow Mold Operator in Alsip, IL. The role involves operating and setting up blow molding equipment, performing quality checks, and conducting changeovers on nights.

You will handle inspection, safety practices, and maintenance of housekeeping standards while supporting production flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and learn production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, performs visual inspection, removes flashes, checks for contamination, weight, installs metal head, performs leak test and plugs.
• Verifies quality of work in process and finished goods.
• Conducts and assists in changeovers.
• Grinds flash and rejects parts.
• Performs housekeeping duties and stores product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Counts inventory of component parts as needed.
• Uses Pallet Jack to transport product to designated area.
• May ensure data entry processes are implemented.
• Observes safety practices and uses PPE; ensures guards and safety features are functional.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, performs entry-level routine activities associated with various types of assembly machine operation and/or setup.

3rd Shift

11:00 PM to 7:30 AM Mondays thru Fridays - Some Saturdays

Key Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, realizes a visual inspection, removes the remaining flashes, checks the bottle’s for Contamination, weight, Install Metal Head on bottle, leak test and install plugs.
• Complete Verifies the quality of all work in process and all finished goods.
• To conduct and assist in changeovers.
• Grinding of flash and rejected parts
• Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping, storing product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Performs count of inventory of component parts as needed.
• Pallet Jack utilization to transport product to designated area.
• May ensure that data entry processes are implemented.
• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Compensation Range:

The pay for this position is $27.55 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
