Job summary

Tyson Foods in Portland, IN is seeking a General Production Labor for the 3rd shift to process, screen, and package product. The role requires following GMP, safety, and quality processes, with training on various production lines and departments.

The starting pay is $19.20 per hour, with a shift increase for second and third shifts, and a strong emphasis on personal hygiene and safety on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand the GMP operation standards, manuals, and related documentation as written.
• Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management in professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product on various lines to check for foreign material and to make sure product meets customer specifications such as proper color, size, shape, etc.
• Properly stack product to maintain accurate case counts for each product.
• Assemble and tape boxes in fast pace to keep up with production lines.
• Pack product in boxes based on customer specifications, ensuring proper weight and product count.
• Must be willing to train new hires and transferred team members and rotate between departments.
