Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring for a 3rd Shift Freight Handler at our Shepherdsville Distribution Center. Starting pay is $19.60/hour with a $1.00 shift premium, plus opportunities for raises within the first year. Work Sundays to Thursdays with the 3rd shift from 9:45 PM to 5:45 AM.

No experience required; training provided. Responsibilities include breaking down pallets, sorting inbound freight, and ensuring pallet integrity while operating in extreme cold or hot conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from trailers and break down for correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
• Account for damaged product and ensure it is not received into inventory.
• Ensure the structural integrity of pallets during handling.

Distribution Center Address: 342 Gordon Industrial Ave, Shepherdsville KY
Pay: Starting at $19.60/hour (includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium)

Work Schedule

• Sunday - Thursday, Friday's mandatory based on work volume.
• 3rd Shift - 9:45PM-5:45AM (shifts vary based on work volume)

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a freight handler, you'll support our team by safely removing pallets of product from the trailer and breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration. You will also separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory, and account for the structural integrity of pallets. There’s no experience required - we'll train you how to get the job done!

• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers!
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while you’re here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
