Job summary

Gibbs Die Casting Tech in Henderson, Kentucky seeks a Remelt / Fork Lift Operator for the 3rd shift to feed the casting presses with molten aluminum and manage scrap for reuse.

Responsibilities include maintaining furnace temperatures, handling alerts, loading materials, removing impurities, and ensuring a steady aluminum supply for casting operations. Safety guidelines must be followed.

Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma required.
• 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment with powered industrial equipment (fork trucks).
• Must possess a Gibbs issued powered industrial equipment license or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Maintains metal temperatures at the proper levels in Remelt and holding furnaces.
• Understands metal temperature alarms and takes action when the light indicates an issue.
• Adds scrap metal and ingots into the furnace as specified.
• Sprinkles fluxing compound on molten aluminum to remove impurities.
• Skims slag from surface of molten aluminum.
• Conveys molten aluminum to holding furnaces at casting presses.
• Maintains an adequate supply of aluminum for casting operations.
