Job summary

Stratas Foods in Hillside, NJ is hiring an Operator I for the 3rd shift at a starting pay of $18.06 per hour. This full-time position requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating filling equipment, cappers, labelers and related machinery to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities include ensuring GMP and safety guidelines are followed, performing minor maintenance, recording downtime, and assisting with quality checks and documentation for product QA.

Qualifications

• Must follow GMP’s and safety guidelines and wear PPE and adhere to all safety rules.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced food facility environment.
• Self-guided and motivated to operate independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines such as filling equipment, cappers, labelers and sealers to meet production schedules.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths and observe machine operation for defects.
• Record downtime and report issues to supervisor to reduce downtime.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance.
• Assist mechanics and follow lockout/tagout procedures during repairs.
