Job summary

Cedars Mediterranean Foods, Inc is seeking a 3rd shift Sanitation Supervisor to lead sanitation staff, ensure compliance with food safety regulations, and maintain sanitation records. The role emphasizes coordinating with management and production teams to maximize productivity and keep the plant audit-ready.

The position requires strong leadership, extensive experience in sanitation within dairy/food production, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Five years related, progressive sanitation experience with commercial dairy/food production and CIP
• Strong understanding of food safety principles, chemical safety, CIP/COP, QA, SQF, HAACP, GMPs, regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA)
• BS degree in Food Science, Sanitation with Chemicals Standards, or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience supervising workers
• English required, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Able to perform math functions which include ratios and weights and measures, etc.
• Proficient use of Excel and ability to learn in house programs using a computer and keypad.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and direct sanitation workers to meet sanitation schedules.
• Plan and communicate effectively with management and production teams to maximize productivity.
• Operate CIP automation systems; disassemble and reassemble equipment for proper cleaning/sanitizing.
• Audit sanitation and CIP/COP processes for compliance with SOPs, federal and state regulations.
• Maintain Master Sanitation Schedules for plant and warehouse facilities and document sanitation activities.
• Ensure audit readiness and provide support during audits.
• Complete record keeping on cleaning cycles, concentrations, flow rates, temperatures, and sanitation steps.
• Work with the QA Director to maintain product quality and safety and resolve sanitation issues.
• Continuously verify/validate sanitation effectiveness and propose better cleaning methods.
• Inspect locations for unsanitary conditions and take corrective action.
• Oversee chemical systems and coordinate with suppliers to meet quality requirements.
• Monitor water consumption and utilities to optimize usage and address issues.
• Maintain pest control records and related activities.
