Job summary

Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a 3rd shift production operator to run filler equipment and monitor packaging lines. The role includes completing documentation, quality checks, and ensuring materials and safety procedures are followed on a fast-paced production floor.

You will troubleshoot basic issues, collect QA samples, and coordinate with other departments to maintain steady production and line changeovers. External candidates receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Operate filler equipment of various product families following regulatory standards.
• Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment of the production line.
• Complete all required documentation and quality checks.
• Monitor weights, seals, caps, and packaging.
• Adjust filler timing and filling; check mat as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
• Collect samples for QA testing.
• Ensure proper packaging materials are used.
• Watch for jams and thread wrap to minimize downtime.
• Perform line changeovers safely and efficiently.
• Prepare equipment for next run and size changes.
• Maintain communication with other departments and report issues.
• Adhere to SOPs and DFA GMPs; support continuous improvement.
• Report food safety and quality issues to management.
