Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Fabrications Quality Manager in Athens, GA to lead quality improvements for the fabrication line and work with the 3rd Shift Assembly team to ensure processes meet quality and cost targets.

You will drive Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO/CQMS initiatives, perform root cause analysis, and manage quality risk to prevent recurrence while supporting safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Quality management knowledge and ability to create a quality-friendly environment.
• Strong problem solving, RCA, and risk management skills.
• Knowledge of quality risk management processes and tools.
• Structured RCA techniques to identify root causes in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Determines processing needs to provide fixtures, tooling and methods to meet schedules and production requirements.
• Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work.
• Ensures the quality of product produced and conforms to Caterpillar's Quality Policy while maintaining cost.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
• Implement corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS/ISO certification.
