Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. is seeking an EHV Electrical Product Assembler for the 3rd shift in Waukesha, WI. The role focuses on hands-on construction of transformer components, with emphasis on safety, precision, and teamwork.

You will use cranes, forklifts, and presses to assemble internal and external transformer parts, install components, prep for testing and shipping, and participate in painting preparation. Training and skill development are encouraged in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in heavy mechanical or electrical assembly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas (5S).
• Collaborate with team members, leads, engineering, QA, and other functions.
• Follow blueprints, BOMs and specifications for correct assembly.
• Receive assignments from supervisor and perform tasks accordingly.
• Contamination control and cleanliness procedures (vacuuming, scans, cleaning).
• Train new operators as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes to lift large components and assemblies.
• Move parts using forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles.
• Install conduits, wire transformer devices and gauges.
• Install external accessories and prep units for testing.
• Prepare units and removed components for painting.
• Run processing equipment (vacuum pumps, oil fill/drain).
• Work in confined spaces and at heights as required.
