Southern Champion Tray (SCT) in Mansfield, TX is seeking a Cutter Operator for the 3rd shift to safely set up and operate the large format die cutter, achieving target speeds and quality product. The role involves changing dies, making ready times, stocking materials, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with die cutting, basic computer skills, and strong mechanical abilities, with English reading and speaking proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a large format die cutter, preferably in a folding carton environment.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
• Must have mechanical ability and skills.
• Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
• Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.

Responsibilities

• Must safely set up and operate the machine to produce quality product at the target speed of each run.
• Change out dies and achieve make ready times safely and efficiently to meet target speeds.
• Stock the machine with materials needed for setup and die working.
• Tools on the machine are to be in their proper holding places and borrowed tools are to be returned.
• Locate issues that may occur mechanically to the machine as part of setup and while observing the machine while it is running.
• Work with the Die Shop assistant to set up upcoming job and assist with any issues throughout the run.
• Utilize downtime to assist with setup or maintain a clean work environment as instructed by a supervisor.
• Adopt Continuous Improvement and follow new procedures and innovations for efficiency and safety.
• Maintain a clean work environment per the 5S system including machine, floors, desks, and fans.
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and be aware of unsafe conditions.
