Materion is seeking an ARC Melter Operator to produce high-quality tantalum ingots using Electron Beam and Arc furnaces, with additional involvement in related equipment. The role includes operating vacuum furnaces, maintaining molds, and ensuring quality control through SAP-based material movements.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in manufacturing, and experience with vacuum systems.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years industrial manufacturing experience.
• Experience with vacuum systems required; vacuum melting experience with EB, Arc, or CMAF preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Forklift experience required or preferred (depending on company standards).
• Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and safety rules.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate EB and Arc furnaces following SOPs, OPCs, and routers.
• Operate GCA and AC furnaces, Hydride/De hydride and Agglomeration furnaces, Eitel Press, 1500T Press, and mold cleaning equipment as required.
• Operate vacuum furnaces and perform vacuum leak detection.
• Inspect and maintain molds, melt hardware, and all necessary operating supplies.
• Inspect materials to ensure product specifications are met and report defects or issues to supervision.
• Work collaboratively with welders and other downstream operations to ensure process alignment.
• Enter material movements into SAP and complete all quality control and lot traceability documentation.
• Perform routine troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area in alignment with 5S and safety standards.
• Follow all safety rules, environmental regulations, and SOPs to maintain high product quality and safe working conditions.
