Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Corinth, MS is seeking a team member for warehouse operations on the 3rd shift. The role involves inspecting and operating specialized logistics equipment, counting parts, filling orders and basic quality checks.

Starting pay is $18.35/hour with a 7% night shift premium. You’ll work with reach trucks, order pickers and turret trucks, while following safety policies and SOPs. Overtime may be required depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect specialized logistics equipment (reach trucks, order pickers, turret trucks).

• Adhere to safety policies and 5S housekeeping; work with carriers and customers as needed.

In this role you will also be assigned to inspect and operate specialized logistics equipment. In conjunction with this role, you will work from a variety of source documents to verify part numbers, part locations and quantities. In addition to counting parts and filling orders, this position requires first line, basic quality assessment of parts for damage and defects.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with the operation of specialized logistics equipment such as reach truck, order picker, and turret truck
• Previous distribution center, warehouse, and/or order filling experience
• Experience working with written instructions for a given task such as Standard Work or Standard Operating Procedures

P** ay and shift details:

• Work location: Corinth, MS
• 3rd Shift - specific shift hours depend upon placement
• Starting pay rate: $18.35/hour (plus 7% of base rate for night shift premium)

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assigned to specialized equipment: i.e. Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Turret Trucks
• Consistently meet equipment-specific efficiency targets
• Utilizing and inspecting heavy equipment including sit down fork truck, pallet jack and overhead hoists
• Perform material handling and warehousing functions, order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment and supplies
• Operating automated packaging equipment, shipping and receiving
• Multiple systems interactions
• Interaction with carrier drivers
• Adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures
• Uses machines for weighing, banding, wrapping, packaging, stenciling, etc.
• Operates electronic hardware to receive material into inventory, including iPads
• Performs 5S/housekeeping functions as required

Essential Job Functions:

• Frequently lift parts up to 35 pounds individually or 70 pounds as a team lift
• Frequently bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks
• Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
• Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
• Frequently work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor
• Must be able to cross reference material to documentation for verification
• Must be able to work overtime when required

Overtime requirements:

Overtime is required depending on business need. Overtime could be mandatory or voluntary and could occur during the week and/or on weekends (depending on business need).
