Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Corinth, MS is seeking a Logistics I to perform material handling and packing duties in a safety- and quality-focused environment.

You will move parts using forklifts, pallets, hoists, and cranes, while maintaining data accuracy and supporting a team that values efficiency and reliability. Starting pay is $17.05 per hour with a 6am–2pm Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and interpretation of standard work documents.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is preferred.
• Experience with hoists and material handling equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and assist in moving parts to production areas.
• Follow safety and quality guidelines in a fast-paced environment.
• May use overhead hoist or cranes to move large components.
• Perform packing, order filling, and parts storage as required.
• Maintain accurate data entry and use of computer systems.
• Cross-train in related roles within salary grade 1 when needed.

Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently hasan opening for a Logistics I position located in the Corinth, MS facility. This position will perform material handling operations to bring material to POU (Point of Use) and may include:

• Use of Forklifts
• Pallet Jacks
• Banders
• Box Building
• Other packing processes

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused environment
• May be required to use an overhead hoist to move large components
• May require utilizing heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down and standing forklifts, overhead cranes, and/or electric pallet jack to move parts in and out of area
• May unload parts from tubs or baskets according to production schedule
• May perform order filling, processing, storing/ picking of parts, materials, equipment and supplies
• May require operating automated packaging equipment
• Cross training in other positions up within salary grade 1 may be required, based upon basic qualification and physical requirements being met
  • Examples of positions within salary grade 1 include: Disassembly 1, Cleaning 1, Assembly 1,
• Utilize various computer systems including email on a regular basis
• All operators will adhere to Built in Safety guidelines
• Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated
• Operator will work in a team environment
• Candidate will work in an environment without close supervision

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data)
• Required to read/write and interpret documents

Top Candidates will also have:

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
• Prior use of hoists
• Knowledge of engines and components
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with basic tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.)
• Previous forklift experience

Physical Requirements:

• Job may be physically demanding at times and must be able to handle high volume fast pace operation
• May work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
• May walk, squat and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes
• Must be able to wear proper PPE
• May be required to lift/push/pull heavy parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift
• Must be able stand for up to 10+ hours per shift
• Must be able operate a sitting/standing forklift for the duration of shift

Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:

• Any current agency workers applying to this position must have worked the required 300 hours to be considered as well as meeting all requirements for the position.

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

Starting hourly pay rate of $17.05 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)

Work Hours: 6am-2pm (Mon - Fri)

40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime

80 hours of vacation with an additional 3 days (hours dependent on work schedule) of Paid Time Off (PTO) (all prorated based on hire date)

10 Paid holidays

Summary Pay Range:

$17.05 - $22.15
