ACCEL Schools is hiring a dedicated 3rd Grade Teacher for Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. Join a network focused on delivering a strong PK-12 education with emphasis on student learning and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, differentiating instruction, maintaining records, communicating with families, and using technology to support learning. A valid Ohio teaching license and a bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching through observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working in urban environments.

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.

• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Utilize school approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds of students.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth of their child.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
• Participate in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate with colleagues.

About the Opportunity:

About You:

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to properly manage confidential information
• Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working within an urban environment

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - 49,500. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
