Job Purpose

The K‑8 teacher is responsible for instructing and nurturing students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. They play a crucial role in shaping students' educational and social development by providing a well‑rounded curriculum and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements age‑appropriate lesson plans and teaching strategies for various subjects, ensuring they align with state and district educational standards.
  • Establishes and maintains a well‑organized, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes active student participation, cooperation, and discipline.
  • Delivers engaging and effective instruction across multiple subjects, adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Regularly assesses and evaluates student progress through quizzes, tests, assignments, and other assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
  • Identifies and addresses the unique needs and challenges of individual students, including those with special educational requirements or learning disabilities.
  • Maintains open and proactive communication with parents and guardians to update them on students' progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Continuously engages in professional development activities to stay up to date on the latest teaching techniques, educational trends, and curriculum developments.
  • Collaborates with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate curriculum, share best practices, and address school‑wide issues.
  • Manages and utilizes educational materials, technology, and resources effectively to enhance the learning experience.
  • Promotes positive social and behavioral development in students, emphasizing values such as respect, responsibility, and empathy.
  • Ensures the safety and well‑being of students at all times, including during emergency situations.
  • Upholds high ethical standards in all interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and the school community.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Experience Preferred:

Working Conditions

This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The employee may be required to deal with students with behavioral risks.
