CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructional Planning
- Applies the Understanding by Design framework to design standards-based, developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant curriculum that maximizes student engagement and achievement.
- Differentiates lesson plans based on students' learning profiles to engage and challenge all ability levels.
- Designs formative and summative assessments aligned with course objectives.
- Uses assessment data to modify plans for targeted improvements.
- Creates classroom procedures to maximize learning time.
- Reflects on teaching practices to enhance student achievement.
- Submits updated plans and grades regularly.
- Adjusts course content based on data, reflection, and learning cycles.
- Instructional Delivery
- Demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge and presents content suitable for all learners.
- Facilitates meaningful student practice and manages learning experiences effectively.
- Checks for understanding frequently and provides feedback.
- Sets high expectations for character and behavior, reinforcing rules and expectations.
- Implements practices to maximize learning time.
- Tracks and evaluates student performance, adjusting instruction as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
At least one year of related experience with strong outcomes preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- NCLB, valid Texas Teaching Certificate or acceptance into an approved Alternative Certification Program, with TEXes exam results.
- Pre-K–8 assignments
- ESL Supplement required
