CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Planning
- Designs standards-based, developmentally appropriate, and culturally relevant curriculum using the Understanding by Design framework to maximize engagement and achievement.
- Differentiates lessons based on students' learning profiles to challenge all ability levels.
- Creates formative and summative assessments aligned with course objectives.
- Uses assessment data to refine plans and target improvements.
- Establishes classroom procedures to maximize learning time.
- Reflects on teaching practices and assessment tools to enhance student achievement.
- Submits updated plans and grades regularly.
- Adjusts courses based on data, reflection, and learning cycles.
Instructional Delivery
- Possesses thorough curriculum knowledge and delivers content that reaches all learners.
- Facilitates meaningful student practice and manages classroom activities effectively.
- Checks understanding frequently and provides timely feedback.
- Sets and enforces high expectations for character and behavior.
- Implements efficient practices to maximize instructional time.
- Monitors and adjusts teaching based on assessment performance.

Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or acceptance into an approved Alternative Certification Program, with TEXes exam results.
- Pre-K–8 certification, ESL certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
