Job summary

BASIS is seeking a Math/Science Teacher for 3rd grade in the Baton Rouge metro area. The role focuses on delivering BASIS Curriculum with engaging, high-level instruction and collaborative curriculum development.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in subject matter (or 24+ credits in the subject), IVP fingerprint clearance, and proficiency with MS Office. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 2+ years of teaching experience. Benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree)
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans
• Provide instruction on a higher level than grade standard in an interactive learning environment
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum with creative lessons and assessments
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum/materials
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge to boost academic trajectory
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement and personal responsibility
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch
• Maintain regular, full attendance
• Supervise individual students and groups of students
