Job summary

Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time Long-Term Substitute for 3rd grade, from February 1 through June 3, 2027. The role supports teaching and learning across core subjects, while fostering a caring classroom community aligned with Trinity’s mission and policies.

The candidate will plan standards-aligned units, differentiate instruction, assess student progress, and integrate digital technologies to enhance learning, reporting to the Head of Lower School.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required, preference for education
• Experience working with children in a K-5 classroom setting
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, writing, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to teach and manage a group of 20+ students independently
• Comfort with integrating digital tools to support learning

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning for students and deliver the lower school curriculum
• Engage in standards-aligned planning of curricular units
• Differentiate content and instruction using student data
• Evaluate student progress using standards-based assessments
• Use instructional methods grounded in Trinity’s philosophy (constructivist learning, workshop model, problem-based learning)
• Design and utilize relevant digital technology to enhance student learning
• Promote a strong sense of community and maintain Trinity’s Scholarly Habits
