Job Title: 3rd Class Dismantler at My Auto Store

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual, preferably with a background in auto mechanics, to support vehicle dismantling operations. This hands-on role involves performing essential dismantling tasks under the supervision of senior technicians. It is ideal for those with automotive experience eager to apply their skills in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in basic dismantling tasks, including removing non-essential components and prepping vehicles for further disassembly.
  2. Safely remove tires and batteries, ensuring proper handling and disposal.
  3. Perform vehicle greening procedures, including extracting and responsibly disposing of motor oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze.
  4. Utilize dry ice blasting techniques to clean vehicles and remove dirt, grime, and surface coatings.
  5. Maintain and clean tools and equipment used during dismantling operations.
  6. Adhere to safety guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE to minimize risks.
  7. Collaborate with team members to optimize efficiency and productivity, providing support as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Solid background in automotive mechanics, repair, or salvage operations.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification or training in automotive mechanics, auto body repair, or related fields preferred.
  • Previous experience in automotive dismantling or related work is a plus.
Working Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Work involves a production environment with moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to weather conditions, loud noise (ear protection required), and confined spaces.
  • Long periods of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs required.
  • Regular attendance is essential for timely completion of duties.
