Job summary

Grand River Navigation is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of 3rd Assistant Engineer aboard our US-flagged self-unloading vessels operating on the Great Lakes. The role focuses on assisting with propulsion and machinery operations, maintenance, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• USCG MMC and endorsements required.
• TWIC card required.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, monitoring, and maintenance of propulsion, auxiliary, and mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections of engine room equipment and report deficiencies.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of vessel machinery.
• Maintain engineering logs and equipment documentation.
• Support fuel transfers, lubrication programs, and inventory management.
