Job summary

Kitware seeks a researcher to advance 3D vision from images and video, developing algorithms for calibration, registration, and reconstruction with emphasis on aerial/satellite imagery and potential expansion to underwater data and SAR.

You will contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, collaborate with researchers, present at CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, and pursue funding for your own research areas if desired. Citizenship restrictions apply.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience using multiview geometry to develop 3D point clouds, meshes, or NeRFs.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Strong software development practices and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• Publication record in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV or similar venues.
• Innovative problem-solver with track record of tackling difficult imaging challenges.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to pursue TS/SCI clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop algorithms for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to generate and peer-review ideas.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Engage with national/international conferences and pursue new funding opportunities.
