Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a 3D Technical Designer for a leading NYC wholesale manufacturer of branded and licensed children’s apparel. You will develop and maintain quality and fit across styles, creating precise spec packages and leading fit sessions with design and production teams.

You’ll apply Browzwear 3D skills, pattern knowledge, and garment construction expertise to ensure samples meet tolerance and safety standards, in a collaborative office setting five days a week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in children's wear.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software.
• Familiar with measurement sample points to ensure samples are within tolerance of required specifications.
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; knowledge of Illustrator a plus.
• Willing to work in the office 5 days/week.

Job Description

An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children's apparel in NYC is looking to fill a Technical Design position. The Technical Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent level of quality and fit for Children's Apparel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including providing detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed
