Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC in New York City is seeking a 3D Technical Designer to develop and maintain fit and construction standards for children's apparel. The role focuses on consistency and quality across products.

You will prepare spec packages, math with grade rules, and lead fit sessions with Design and Production, ensuring samples meet tolerance and safety standards. This office-based position requires 5 days/week onsite in NYC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in children's wear.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar.
• Familiar with measuring sample points to ensure tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Word; Illustrator a plus.
• Willing to work in the office 5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Production to establish and maintain fit and construction standards.

• Accurately measure and evaluate development and proto samples for spec and workmanship.

Job Description

An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children's apparel in NYC is looking to fill a Technical Design position. The Technical Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent level of quality and fit for Children's Apparel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including providing detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience, children swear experience
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software.
• Familiar with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications
