Job summary

FAM Brands is seeking a highly skilled 3D Technical Designer to drive development from concept to production, with hands-on Browzwear expertise and pattern analysis. This role partners closely with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to translate creative vision into technically sound, production-ready garments while meeting aggressive timelines.

The ideal candidate will read, analyze, and correct patterns, maintain fit blocks, and create detailed tech packs.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Development, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in apparel technical design with pattern reading and correction expertise.
• Proficiency in Browzwear 3D is required, core to the role.
• Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, garment construction, sewing techniques, technical drawing, and fit evaluation.
• Experience working with Pattern Engineers (domestic and overseas) to drive fit intent and resolve issues.
• Deep understanding of woven, knit, and engineered knit constructions.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite for tech flats and docs.
• Experience with Centric PLM or similar PLM.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace; exposure to Gerber is a plus.
• International manufacturing exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• 3D Design & Digital Development using Browzwear to validate garment simulations and accelerate sample development.
• Review fit, construction, and design details digitally before samples to reduce rounds.
• Collaborate with Design & Product Development to align on 3D fit approvals.
• Stay current with 3D capabilities and expand digital workflows across categories.
• Pattern Analysis & Correction: interpret patterns, identify fit issues, provide actionable corrections to Pattern Engineers.
• Maintain fit blocks and grading standards for multiple categories and sizes.
• Collaborate with factories to resolve pattern-related production challenges quickly.
• Lead and manage technical fit sessions, deliver clear fit comments via PLM.
• Create and maintain detailed tech packs with measurements, construction standards, fit intent, and quality expectations.
• Manage fit development from handoff to pre-production with graded spec reviews.
• Maintain sample tracking to meet timelines and milestones.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Design, Merchandising, Product Development and Production for alignment.
• Communicate with domestic and international vendors; participate in cross-time-zone meetings.
• Identify and resolve development risks to avoid delays.
• Analyze competitive products and trends to inform fit and construction improvements.
