Job summary

Emulatics is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented 3D Printing Technician Intern to join our on-site team in New York. You will directly manage machines, handle physical parts, and process client orders from week one, gaining practical additive manufacturing experience.

Working with our engineering group, you will operate, maintain, and optimize the 3D printing setup while turning concepts into finished parts for real clients, with mentorship and flexible hours to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience operating FDM or SLA 3D printers (personal, academic, or lab setup).
  • Familiarity with slicing software is a plus.
  • Interest in content creation or social media is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and monitor 3D print jobs across on-site machine fleets.
  • Perform post-processing duties including support removal, sanding, curing, and surface finishing.
  • Pack and ship finished parts safely for client delivery.
  • Assist with some machine maintenance: clogs, nozzle changes, bed cleaning.
  • Shadow experienced technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot printing equipment.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and failures.

You’ll be directly managing machines, handling physical parts, and processing client orders starting your very first week. If you thrive in fast‑paced environments, you’ll master the ins and outs of a high-throughput additive manufacturing facility in no time.
