Job summary

Xometry is seeking an Additive Technician for 3D printing to operate diverse additive manufacturing equipment, manage powder handling, remove supports, and perform post-processing tasks with an emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; comprehensive benefits are provided. This role supports manufacturing operations at our Gaithersburg, MD site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High level of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Extreme attention to detail and patience.
• Ability to work unattended while multitasking.
• Algebra and basic computer skills.
• Performs all work in compliance with Xometry's quality and safety systems, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate Additive Manufacturing machines (EOS SLS, Stratasys Fortus 450, Stratasys 900, PostPro3D Vapor Smoother, Prusa i3Mk3s+ desktop FDM, Stratasys Connex).
• Powder handling and SLS build breakouts.
• Support removal from FDM printed models (manual or soluble bath).
• Post-processing: drilling holes, tapping, installing inserts/helicoils, tumbling, dyeing, sanding, bagging and tagging.
• Shop maintenance and cleanliness.
• Regular use of Xometry ERP and Magics software systems.
