Description

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home.

This position offers the opportunity to:

1. Collaborate with engineers and designers in high and extra high voltage substation design to prepare documents such as General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views (Elevations), Bills of Material, Lightning Stroke Shielding Plans, Grounding Plans, Conduit and Electrical Connection Details, Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plans, and Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Sections.
2. Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
3. Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.

Qualifications

Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• An Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma with 2+ years of 3D drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience preparing 3D substation models and physical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Inventor for 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design and/or SDS.
• Ability to visualize and model substation equipment in 3D.
• Ability to follow CAD standards.

Valued Knowledge/Skills:

• An Associate’s Degree in Computer-Aided Design.
• Knowledge of technical plan, blueprint, drawing, and model production techniques.
• Understanding of engineering science and technology applications, relating equipment to technical designs.
• Experience using BlueBeam to create BOM counts, review, and self-check drawings.
