Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Dayton, TX is seeking a Rebar Detailer to support the South Central division. You will detail, model, and coordinate moderately complex rebar projects using 3D software, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You will work with Tekla or other 3D systems, verify drawings and specifications, and communicate with A/E and customers to resolve changes while upholding safety and company values.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting.
• Approximately 18 months of Rebar detailing experience (preferred).
• Experience with 3D software: Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Detail, model, and coordinate moderately complex small projects with 3D software.
• Verify drawings, specifications, addenda and other contractual information from routing sheet or Business system.
• Interact with A/E, steel placer and customer on project questions.
• Generate required reports in Business System to assist in management of project(s).
• Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards.

Basic Job Functions

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Purpose

Detail commercial and civil projects as they pertain to the supply and installation of rebar using 3D software.

Basic Functions

• Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• Ability to independently detail, model, and coordinate moderately complex small projects
• Develop skills with Tekla and other 3D-based modeling systems.
• Verify drawings, dates, specification, addenda and other contractual information from routing sheet or direct from Business system.
• Identify and develop information required to inform the customer of any changes to the contract. Work with little supervision to address with customer, produce change-order document and enter into Business system.
• Detail/model: accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required.
• Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for both detailing and delivery of material.
• Communicate with A/E, steel placer and customer on all questions relating to project.
• Address Contract Adds and Deducts - include supervisor for more complex requirements
• Generate required reports in Business System to assist in management of project(s).
• Enter all drawings for submission in drawing tracking system.
• Perform other duties as required by your supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Approximately 18 months of experience as a Rebar Detailer with Nucor Rebar Fabrication Detailing System
• Prior experience with 3D software (Revit, Solidworks, Sketchup, etc)
• Working knowledge of industry reference material (CRSI and ACI)

Special Demands

• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Some international travel may be required for training on product
