Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee day-to-day specialty pharmacy operations and ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations. The role emphasizes patient care, quality metrics, and continuous improvement within a hospital setting.

The incumbent will supervise pharmacists and technicians, coordinate with a specialty pharmacy partner, and support accreditation readiness, policy updates, and performance enhancements across the department.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
• California Board of Pharmacy License
• Three years of specialty and retail pharmacy experience including one year of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and policies and resolves compliance questions
• Oversees operations and workflow improvements to sustain high-quality patient care
• Develops and maintains strong relationship with specialty pharmacy partner and coordinates issue resolution
• Oversees departmental quality assurance activities and reports findings quarterly
• Provides direct supervision to assigned pharmacy personnel including scheduling
• Performs annual evaluations and probation-period reviews
• Initiates disciplinary actions when appropriate
• Performs as Staff Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacist as needed
• Develops, reviews and updates departmental policies and procedures
• Maintains formulary and drug administration protocols
• Provides pharmaceutical care to in-hospital patients
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and department information
• Responds to concerns from nursing staff and administration about pharmacy services
• Assists in implementing technology for pharmaceutical care in inpatient services
• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating staff
• Supports regulatory and quality measures across the organization
