GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a 310T Apprentice Mechanic in Ayr, Ontario. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics on heavy trucks and equipment, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role includes mentoring apprentices and working with a modern fleet in a new maintenance shop. Applicants should hold a 310T license (or be at 310T level 2), possess a valid G license, and bring their own tools.

Qualifications

• 310T license (or 310T level 2 or higher apprentice) and valid G driver’s license.
• Own tools are required.
• 3+ years’ experience preferred; priority given to experienced applicants.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• Utilize vehicle electronics to identify failure modes and plan repairs.
• Estimate time and materials for repairs and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain safety checks and keep a clean, safe work area per OHSA standards.
• Document repairs and parts usage in maintenance software.
• Mentor apprentices and assist with on-the-job training.
