Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Ayr, Ontario is seeking a dedicated 310T Apprentice Mechanic to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics on a fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment, while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

This hands-on role offers apprenticeship progression, access to modern shop facilities, and opportunities for overtime and advancement within a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications

• 310T Truck and Coach license (or 310T level 2 or higher apprentice) and valid G driver’s license.
• Own tools are required.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Welding experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair operations on vehicles and equipment.
• System diagnostics of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• Use of vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and guide repairs.
• Estimate time and material costs and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Ensure safety checks and maintain a clean, compliant work area.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
• Assist and mentor apprentices on the shop floor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
