Job summary

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services in Seguin, TX seeks a Diversion Center Registered Nurse (RN) to provide psychiatric and medical care in a 4-bed, 23 hour/48 hour unit. You will perform triage, assessments, medication administration, and patient education while coordinating with the treatment team.

Shifts are 12 hours with rotating weekends and a block schedule you can partially create. Licensure in Texas and a minimum of 2 years behavioral health nursing are required, with bilingual or LCDC

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
• At least 2 years of recent nursing experience in behavioral health/substance use settings.
• Computer literate with Windows/MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and admissions assessments for psychiatric/medical concerns.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Educate patients about diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Provide RN delegation and training to support staff.
• Develop and complete nursing care plans and communicate with the treatment team.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team in a 12-hour shift with rotating weekends.

Job Description

The Diversion Center Registered Nurse (RN) performs professional nursing duties as the RN assigned in a 4 bed, 23 hour/48 hour behavioral health care unit and demonstrates strong knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of working with individuals with psychiatric and mental health and or medical concerns. Responsibilities include nursing triage and assessment upon admission, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, providing RN delegation and training to support staff within the center. The RN will assess and complete nursing care plans and will communicate findings with the treatment team.

The Diversion Center RN communicates effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards. The RN will work a 12-hour day shift with rotating weekends with the ability to create their own block schedule. The RN will be directed/supervised by the Director of Nursing for clinical matters such as, but not limited to, medications, pharmacy, injections, genetic testing, phlebotomy/laboratory matters and clinical assessments. The RN will be directed/supervised by the Program Manager for administrative matters such as, but not limited to, requesting time off, scheduling and office flow.

Location: Seguin, TX

Hourly Salary Range: $45.39 - $51.64

Differential Details

• $1.00 per hour – 2 years previous experience
• Up to $4.00 per hour – Tenure with BTCS
• $0.75 per hour – Bilingual
• $0.50 – LCDC Licensure

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain approved driver's status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification.

Experience working with individuals with behavioral health, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, ER or primary care.

Bilingual in Spanish.

Salary Amount$94,411.20 - $107,411.20/year
