Job summary

Graymont is seeking a reliable Material Handler in Tacoma, WA to safely operate plant equipment used in lime production and to load/unload railcars, trucks, and trailers. The role emphasizes quality control and adherence to strict safety standards.

The position requires operating various equipment, completing MSHA-mandated training, and performing routine maintenance tasks while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Active participation in on-site Health and Safety meetings.
• Timely and accurate incident reporting per procedures.
• Complete required training as mandated by MSHA regulations and Graymont standards.
• Capable of climbing ladders and stairs as part of daily duties.
• Must repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload rail cars and trucks as directed.
• Ensure products meet quality specifications.
• Operate bag and bulk bag filling equipment and palletize bags.
• Run production equipment including hydrate, lime, limestone processes.
• Inspect plant and machinery and report defects.
• Check lubrication and fluids and perform basic lubrication tasks.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Operate mobile equipment (forklift, front end loader, dump truck) and obtain certifications.
• Identify issues and report anomalies to Plant Management.
• Review quality data and assist in corrective actions as directed.
• Follow Graymont safety standards and policies.
