Job summary

Lake Air Products, a fast-growing contract manufacturer in Roseville, MN, is seeking 2nd shift welders with TIG/MIG experience. You will lay out, weld, and inspect parts, working with a variety of welding methods to meet strict specifications.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld, strong blueprint-reading and measurement skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while using PPE in a team-driven, quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (TIG welding preferred).
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission.
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• Welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs
