Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Fire Fabrication shop. You will operate a universal welder to weld and cut steel pipe in a structured shop environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, taking precise measurements, and setting up welding equipment. You will be responsible for safety, quality, and adherence to production schedules, with Saturday work as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years welding experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Pipe welding certificates a plus.
• Be dependable and have good attendance.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Take measurements to plan layouts.
• Set up welding machine according to specifications.
• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Maintain equipment in a safe condition.
• Test machine welds for quality.
• Weld by hand leaks found in tests.
• Other duties as assigned.
