Job summary

Liberty Diversified International is seeking a Welder II at our Milford, IA facility on 2nd shift (Mon–Thu 3:30pm–1:30am; overtime possible Fridays). You will set up and perform welding operations, meet cosmetic quality standards, and contribute to safety, quality, and productivity goals.

The role reports to the Production Supervisor in a newly established 2nd shift team, with wage starting at $23.50/hour plus $3.00/hour shift differential. Benefits include comprehensive health options and more.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of weld experience.
• Proven experience reading blueprints and using inspection equipment/measuring devices.
• Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
• Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing and data entry.
• Ability to use math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Setup and perform welding per blue print including (spot welding, robotic welder and MIG welding).
• Finish of product to meet workmanship standards (grinding and sanding).
• Enter work order data required for labor reporting into the computer system.
• Use inspection equipment and review blueprints to ensure work meets quality standards.
• Maintain a clean workstation and production floor.
• Follow health and safety policies and guidelines.

Earn $1,000 after 90 days and $1,500 after 180 days of successful employment.

As a Welder II with Safco, you will set up and perform welding operations that are essential to the production of our products while maintaining established safety, quality, and productivity functions of welding which are essential to our business that meet cosmetic quality standards.

This full-time position reports to the designated Production Supervisor and is located at Safco's manufacturing plant in Milford, IA. As part of our newly established 2nd Shift operation , you'll have the opportunity to join a growing team and help support increased production demand while contributing to the success of a new shift.

2 nd Shift H o urs: Monday – Thursday 3:30pm – 1:30am. Overtime may be required on Fridays based on business needs .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and perform welding per blue print including (spot welding, robotic welder and MIG welding)


• Any required finishing of the product to meet workmanship standard (grinding and sanding)


• Enter w ork o rder data required for labor reporting into the computer system


• Use inspection equipment and review blueprints to ensure work is meeting or exceeding quality standards


• Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.


• Work in a manner that emphasizes safety of self and others. Follows all health and safety policies and guidelines


• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• 3+ years of weld experience


• Pr oven experience reading blueprints and using inspection equipment/measuring devices


• Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing technique s.


• Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing and data entry.


• Ability to use math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills and a high degree of responsiveness and empathy for internal and external customers.


• Preferred metal fabrication and welding background.


• Prior work experience with JDE/Oracle in a manufacturing environment is preferred .


• Experience in a high variety, low to mid-volume manufacturing environment a plus .

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay rate for this position is $ 23.50 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay of $3.00 per hour . The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
