Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for its Fire Fabrication shop. You will use a universal welder to weld on steel pipe, reading blueprints and setting up the machine per specs. This on-site role requires reliability, attendance, and the ability to work Saturdays and 8–12 hour shifts. #{ppf}

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of welding experience, read a tape measure, and may hold pipe welding certificates. Strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4 plus years of welding experience.
• Read a tape measure.
• Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus.
• Be dependable.
• Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position.
• Good work ethic and a willingness to learn.
• Must be able to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form.
• Must be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed).
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with others.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings
• Take measurements to plan layouts

• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test all machine welds to ensure quality
• Weld by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test
• Other duties as assigned
