Job summary

Central Steel & Wire in United States (IL) is seeking a Warehouse Operator for 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm). Responsibilities include picking, staging, packing, and using forklift and SAP for shipping/receiving. Apprenticeship onboarding is part of onboarding, with a pathway to development in a quality-focused metals environment.

The role requires basic math, reading, and computer skills, plus a commitment to safety and accuracy in material handling and documentation.

Qualifications

• Pass skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Ability to pass physical requirements for vision, hearing, mobility.
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Completing SAP work orders and shipping/receiving paperwork.
