Job summary
Central Steel & Wire in University Park, IL is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support daily staging and loading of material for shipments using overhead cranes and forklifts. You will pick and stage feedstock, break down bulk bundles, package to spec, operate forklifts, and complete SAP paperwork for shipping/receiving while contributing to safety and efficiency.
Eligible candidates will enroll in a registered apprenticeship during onboarding; starting pay aligns with experience at
Qualifications
- Reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are evaluated.
- Basic math skills and comfort using a computer are required.
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in an apprenticeship program on onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
- Breaking down bulk bundles for customer orders.
- Packaging material to customer specifications.
- Operate a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
- Complete SAP work order documentation for shipping/receiving.
