The Role:

The 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing all functions performed by warehouse personnel. The Lead must be able to perform all the warehouse team functions, including receiving, put away, order picking, bin transfers, shipping and manifesting. The individual must have excellent mathematical and analytical skills. The individual must maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. In addition, it is expected that this individual will have the ability to not only identify improvement opportunities, but the drive to implement them as well. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, be eager to learn and possess the ability to effectively lead a small team of warehouse personnel.

What You Will Do:

Warehouse Leadership

• Coordinate daily warehouse operations and assign work priorities to ensure efficient support of production and shipping schedules.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to warehouse team members.
• Communicate operational priorities, staffing needs, safety expectations, equipment concerns, and shift handoff information.
• Monitor workflow, identify operational challenges, and take corrective action to minimize disruptions.
• Assist with employee onboarding, training, cross-training, and performance development.
• Maintain high standards of safety, teamwork, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Forklift and Material Handling Operations

• Serve as a subject matter expert in forklift operation and material handling practices.
• Train and coach employees on safe forklift operation and warehouse equipment usage.
• Perform and oversee material staging, replenishment, storage, retrieval, and put-away activities.
• Safely load and unload trailers while protecting product quality and preventing damage.
• Operate forklifts safely in warehouse aisles, dock areas, and outdoor storage locations.
• Assist team members with complex material handling tasks and identify unsafe conditions or equipment issues.

Inventory Control and Warehouse Management

• Ensure inventory accuracy through proper material identification, labeling, storage, and transaction processing.
• Maintain FIFO practices, material traceability, and inventory control procedures.
• Coordinate material movement between receiving, warehouse storage, production, shipping, and external storage locations.
• Process incoming deliveries and communicate receiving discrepancies or unresolved issues.
• Support production by monitoring inventory levels, identifying shortages, and responding to material requests.
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory investigations, and corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and load shipments according to shipping schedules.
• Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping standards, pallet management, waste disposal, and recycling activities.

Adaptability and Additional Responsibilities

• Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and business needs in a dynamic manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
