Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paint Company is hiring a Utility Operator for the East Point Plant to support manufacturing operations across material handling, batching, grinding, filling, labeling, packaging and quality processes. The role is on the 2nd shift (1 PM–9:30 PM) with an hourly rate of $24.50 plus a $0.50 shift differential and includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Key duties include handling raw materials, operating forklifts and packaging lines, performing quality checks, and maintaining production

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Manufacturing/production or material-handling experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate a variety of manufacturing and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to accurately follow batch tickets, production instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Forklift and material-handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations by preparing, weighing, transporting, and staging raw materials according to batch requirements.
• Use scan guns and other systems to locate, track, and document raw materials.
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, and drum handling.
• Operate manufacturing equipment including mixers, grinders, dispersers, scales, and letdown tanks.
• Load and meter raw materials according to batch tickets and production requirements.
• Perform product quality checks, collect samples, and make approved adjustments to batches.
• Support QA activities, including testing, sampling, and equipment checks.
• Maintain tanks and production equipment; manage waste handling and rework.
• Monitor filling/labeling equipment and ensure correct appearance, weights, and codes.
• Prepare, package, and palletize finished products; ensure DOT requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch tickets, and weighing documents.
