The role focuses on keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly through material handling and machine support. Responsibilites include monitoring material levels, loading grinders, moving barrels, and assisting operators during relief periods while adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor material levels and fill material dryers and machine hoppers to prevent production downtime.
• Load materials into grinder machines and monitor material flow.
• Move empty barrels and containers from production areas using a pallet jack.
• Provide break and lunch relief for machine operators and perform assigned operator functions during relief periods.
• Maintain organized material and production areas to reduce safety hazards and support workflow.
• Follow safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment.
• Communicate shortages, equipment concerns, or production issues to supervision.
• Assist with material movement and production support within the production department.

Job description

Position Title: Utility

Utility Wage: $19.50 per hour

Shift: 2nd Hours: 3:30pm-12:00am (Mon-Fri)

QPS Employment Group has a great Utility position available at a company in St. Peters, MO. This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active and playing an important role in keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly.

Utility Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitor material levels and fill material dryers and machine hoppers to prevent production equipment from running out of material.


• Load materials into grinder machines and monitor material flow as needed to support production.


• Move empty barrels and containers from production areas as they become available.


• Maneuver and position barrels weighing approximately 200 lbs. using a pallet jack to transport them to the work area, then sliding or scooting the barrels into final position.


• Provide break and lunch relief for machine operators and perform assigned operator functions during relief periods.


• Maintain organized material and production areas to reduce safety hazards and support efficient workflow.


• Follow established safety procedures when handling materials, operating equipment, and working around production machinery.


• Communicate material shortages, equipment concerns, or production issues to the appropriate supervisor.


• Assist with material movement, production support, grinder loading, and related tasks within the scope of the production department.

Utility Requirements:

• Good organizational and time-management skills.


• Ability to work safely and follow established manufacturing and material-handling procedures.


• Ability to monitor multiple material needs and prioritize tasks to prevent interruptions to production.


• Ability to operate or learn to operate a manual and/or electric pallet jack.


• Ability to work independently while coordinating with machine operators and production personnel.


• Manufacturing, production, or material-handling experience preferred but not required.


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.


• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull while handling production materials.


• Ability to maneuver approximately 200-lb. barrels with the assistance of a pallet jack and by sliding/scooting the barrel into position.


• Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with material handling and production support throughout the shift.
