Job summary

Barton Staffing Solutions is seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor for a union manufacturing client in Franklin Park, IL. You will oversee production, material flow, and Galvanizing Dept. safety and quality are priorities as you manage the shift and coordinate with the Production Manager.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and experience in industrial settings, with OT/weekends as needed. Benefits and a union-friendly environment are offered through the employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of leadership in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
• Ability to present information one-on-one and to a team
• Leadership to support divisional business objectives
• Ability to solve practical problems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations

Responsibilities

• Implement work schedule to maximize manpower and material utilization and assign work to hourly union employees
• Process parts to meet production schedule and escalate issues to Production Manager
• Monitor performance and complete employee reviews; take corrective action as needed
• Report discrepancies in specs, methods or standards to Production Manager
• Ensure product quality meets standards and inspections are conducted
• Report and investigate incidents per company policy
• Ensure accurate reporting of time and production through reports
• Lead shift start-up and monthly safety meetings with staff
• Enforce company policies consistently
• Maintain housekeeping and safe working conditions
• Train new and temporary employees in department activities and safety procedures
• Champion continuous improvement across teams/projects
