Job summary

EthosEnergy is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Blaster/Erector at our Houston, TX facility. The role involves building, cleaning, blasting, rigging, and supporting repair activities for turbine components with limited supervision.

The ideal candidate has seven or more years of hands-on mechanical work and one to three years of trades training. Travel to customer sites and other EthosEnergy facilities may be required. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex drawings, sketches, specifications, charts, and related documentation.
• Working knowledge of shop mathematics, part terminology, tooling, and proper tool use.
• Able to set up and operate shop equipment, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, blast cabinets, and blast booths.
• Able to operate scissor lifts, cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment to move turbine components safely.
• Knowledge of blasting, grinding, lapping, deburring, and preservation processes.
• Ability to assemble/disassemble turbine components and torque bolts to spec.
• Identify and correct mechanical fit, alignment, and clearance issues.
• Complete required documentation accurately.

Responsibilities

• Document work results, clearances, inspection findings, and related data on required forms.
• Follow safety, quality, and teamwork standards daily.
• Set up and operate shop equipment and blast cabinets.
• Operate lifting equipment to move turbine components.
• Clean, deburr, grind, and protect parts according to work instructions.
• Assemble/disassemble turbine components and stack rotors.
• Install/remove parts using heat and torque bolts to spec.
• Learn LSB processes and basic blading fundamentals.
• Measure dimensions and check clearances with precision tools.
• Identify and correct mechanical issues or arrange corrective action.
• Support assignments at customer sites as needed.
