Job summary

Universal Truck Service is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician for the 2nd shift in New Brighton, MN. The role features a 4/10 schedule (Mon-Thur, 1pm-11:30pm) with a $2/hr shift differential and a path to join a growing trailer repair team.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers and related components, conduct safety inspections, and maintain records. A valid Class C license, tools, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of trailer mechanic or technician experience.
• Valid driver's license (Class C).
• Own hand tools and toolbox.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, fleet management systems, and email.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, and crawling.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trailers, dollies, and switchers.
• Service anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electric brakes, disc brakes, and ABS systems.
• Repair swing doors, roll-up doors, and lift gates.
• Perform body, roof, frame, and flooring repairs or replacements.
• Service air ride and spring suspensions, pneumatic systems, and electrical wiring.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required safety documentation.
• Prepare and maintain vehicle records both manually and in fleet management systems.
