Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Tool & Die Specialist for the 2nd shift to assist with commissioning, maintenance, and repair of injection molding, die-casting, and stamping tools. You will bridge production and maintenance and support tooling changes with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mold experience, welding and CNC skills, and a track record of keeping high-volume tooling running. On-site role in Bastrop, TX with potential for overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on technician experience with tool maintenance and/or repair with plastic injection molds
• Welding experience (1+ year) and CNC machining experience beneficial
• Experience in mold maintenance for high-volume production preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and modification of molds for plastic injection and die casting
• Disassembly/assembly of molds safely and efficiently
• Support production and maintenance with troubleshooting and part changes
• Create and maintain mold spare parts lists
• Identify initiatives to reduce defects and downtime
