Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Willard, OH is seeking a Tool & Die Apprentice for the second shift (2pm-10pm). You will learn by doing, repair tools, and perform machining tasks while maintaining quality and safety.

You’ll attend apprenticeship classes, carry out tool room duties, operate lift trucks and other equipment, and aim for continuous improvement under supervision. State-approved apprentice card or equivalent experience, HS diploma, pass entry exam, and lifting up to 50 lbs are required;

Qualifications

• State-approved Tool & Die Apprentice card or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successfully passed the apprenticeship entry exam.
• Valid lift truck operator license or completed lift truck training.
• Furnish required tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic understanding of machining, stamping, fabrication, and assembly operations.

Responsibilities

• Abide by the SBD Apprenticeship expectations.

• Repair and recondition existing tools, fixtures, and dies as assigned.
• Perform machine work on components for new tools, fixtures, and dies as required.
• Operate lift trucks, cranes, welders, and other equipment to perform Tool Room duties.
• Maintain quality and production standards following ISO and company procedures.
• Recognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Perform Tool Room tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Group Leader.

What You’ll Do

As a Tool & Die Apprentice, you’ll be part of our team located in Willard, OH. You’ll get to assume responsibilities and authority:

• Abide by the SBD Apprenticeship expectations
• Attend apprenticeship classes
• Attend required internal and/or external safety classes and follow all safety rules
• Repair and recondition existing tools, fixtures, and dies as assigned
• Perform machine work on components for new tools, fixtures, and dies as required
• Operate lift trucks, cranes, welders, and other equipment to perform Tool Room duties
• Maintain quality and production standards following all ISO and company procedures
